Be a major character within the story, perhaps a King, or a historical figure that was renowned for good or evil. The character would be created with the assistance of a storyteller.
This upgrade can be acquired up to three times per character. This is the means by which a player can choose to be a main plot character for the region the game is held in. Ireland for example. Getting it once grants the player a character that would be known to most of those of the same kind. Vampires would have heard the name of this Vampire for example and the character would have added 15XP to account for the upgrade built into the character as well as 5 extra XP to be spent by the player to personalize the character a bit. Getting this upgrade a second time would put them in the category of known and has some influence over the area the character is from. I.E. If the character were a Garou then they would be the Alpha of the pack they are in and influence within the other packs in the region. More XP would have been added to upgrade the character to fit the role they play in local politics.
Getting this upgrade three times comes with not only an upgrade in XP to account for the power in-game this character can make use of but also the ability to hold onto the position they hold. An example might be one of the Vampire Princes of the Region, to be much like a Primagen of the Camarilla. Or a Sept/Cearn Alpha and Elder of the local Garou. Also to include someone of power within the Fae court and possibly to be one of the House Leaders and Master of a Freehold.
Named historical characters are also gained in this way, these characters having been created by the Storytellers or Loremaster and were granted additional XP in creation to account for the part they play in our games. Examples: Ragnar Lothbrok, Mordred Pendragon, James IV King of Scotland, Margaret Tudor, Sir Robert Walpole, and William Shakespeare.
This Upgrade should only be acquired up to three times as any other upgrade comes from other items.
